Until the end of this month, the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum in the San Francisco Bay Area is hosting 'Tattooed and Tenacious' an exhibition all about tattooed women in California.
Featuring both historical photos and contemporary pictures by Vallejo photographer S.N. Jacobson, the show also includes much fascinating material covering such themes as 'Tattooed Ladies of the Circus', 'Native Ink' and 'Wealthy Women and the Tattoo Craze', plus little known stories of female tattoo artists across the decades.
